Long story short: Nordisk Tobaks Kollegium (NTK) is the main pipe club in Denmark and they have held the Danish and International long time pipe smoking competitions for more than forty years here in Denmark. Every year they plan the number of participants and buy the competition pipe directly from Stanwell. This is to gain a good price and for Stanwell it is and was a good way of promoting their pipes. Over the years the club have sometimes forecasted wrong number and other times they had to change location so the number of participant decreased. So slowly they have gained a significant number of pipes just sitting on an inventory. One day Nikolaj from The Danish Pipe Shop and the clubs chairman Peter Lau had a conversation about everything including the economy of the club and this subject popped up. So what you see here is the result of these conversations. The Danish Pipe Shop sells the unsmoked competition pipes for the Danish pipe club. We think it's a very interesting opportunity for you. You get a fine unsmoked competition pipe . Please note many actually have the tamper and the matches they use for the competition but not all. What is even more exciting is that the models from before 2011 are made in Denmark by Stanwell. This mean that the last Danish made Stanwell are made in 2009 for the 2010 competition. From 2011 they are made in Italy for Stanwell. We think its a win-win-win: You get a unique historical Danish made product, you support the Danish pipe club and you support us!
This is the DM 2002 pipe which means the Danish Championship pipe. We got a total of 26 of this one. It's a wonderful saddle stem billard in a great black sandblasted finish, brass ring and brass S.
