In the late 1940s the first Sarome lighters were produced in Japan, and then things picked up for the innovative Mr. SEGAWA Kunijiro and his staff.
As a company Sarome has always been on the forefront when it comes to new technology and its implementation. For example, it was Sarome that invented the electronic piezo lighters.
The company still produces excellent, reliable fire starters today, both with regular and horizontal (for pipes) flames.
