Kai Nielsen Pipes
Kai is one of the makers from the Danish city Faaborg. He has pipes in his blood since his father was the founder of the famous pipe producer BARI. Kai started as a young boy making pocket money at the BARI factory and after they closed Kai started Faaborg pipes with his brother Jørgen Nielsen and his father Viggo Nielsen (Viggo died in 2009).
Today Kai makes around 3-500 pipes per year in his own name. His pipes are graded A, B, C, D if filtered and V to VVVV for the non filtered. The very best of his pipes are called Jewel and graded D, C, B, A and X where X is the best.
A little unusual for a Danish pipemaker the majority of his stems are made in acrylic, a few in cumberland and very rarely in ebonite.
